El propósito del presente trabajo es explicar desde el marco teórico de la pragmática neogriceana los usos de las partículas negativas ni y ni siquiera y su interpretación como partículas escalares en el español peninsular. Ni es interpretada como partícula escalar relativa y ni siquiera como partícula que convoca escalas absolutas--interpretación paralela a la de incluso y hasta respectivamente. Como tales la primera no señala el punto final de una escala pragmática mientras que la segunda sí lo marca inherentemente. Para probar esta interpretación relativa/absoluta, la autora realiza una serie de pruebas relacionadas con su inserción en ciertas estructuras.
The purpose of this paper is to explain from a neogricean framework the uses of the negative particles ni and ni siquiera and their interpretation as scalar particles in peninsular Spanish. Ni is interpreted as relative while ni siquiera is interpreted as a particle that convoques absolute scales--interpretation parallel to that of incluso and hasta respectively. As such, the former does not indicate the endpoint of a pragmatic scale whereas the latter does signal the endpoint inherently. To verify this relative/absolute interpretation, the author effectuates a series of tests related to their insertion in particular structures.
