This study examines geminate causatives in Sason Arabic, focusing on the type of projection in which the embedded agent is introduced and the voice alternations this projection exhibits. The study argues that geminate causatives embed a second, embedded VoiceP with active-passive-like alternation, without a morphological reflex. However, this VoiceP exhibits various syntactic and semantic properties that warrant identifying it as a distinct type, thus applicative VoiceP (Legate 2014).
