Abstract

This study investigates the effects of proficiency and working memory capacity on the processing of agreement dependencies by English speakers at mid and high proficiencies in French. It does so by examining the event-related potentials that English speakers display when processing felicitous and infelicitous local and non-local subject-verb agreement dependencies in French and in English.
