The paper describes the treatment of Russian borrowings in English. The research was carried out on the largest monolingual dictionaries, such as the Oxford English Dictionary for British English and three editions of Webster's New International Dictionary for American English. The study shows both similarities and differences in the lexicographic description of Russianisms, and the findings are subsumed under the four general headings of etymology, spelling, definition and lexical coverage.
