Abstract
This introduction to the Selected Proceedings of the 38th Annual Conference on African Linguistics provides a description of the proceedings and the conference, held at the University of Florida in 2007. It includes acknowledgments and an obituary for Sonja Fagerberg Diallo, one of the keynote speakers for the conference, to whose memory the volume is dedicated.
